Everyone receives a letter like this in November. It's long, but there are only four important numbers: the premie (premium), eigen risico (excess), what has changed in the coverage, and the date by which you can switch insurers. Find these — you can skim the rest.

Geachte heer Berg,

In deze brief leest u wat er in 2027 verandert aan uw zorgverzekering. Uw polis wordt automatisch verlengd; u hoeft dus niets te doen als u tevreden bent.

Uw premie voor de basisverzekering wordt 149,50 euro per maand. Dat is 6,25 euro meer dan dit jaar. De premie wordt zoals gebruikelijk rond de eerste van de maand van uw rekening afgeschreven.

Het verplichte eigen risico blijft 385 euro. Dat betekent dat u de eerste 385 euro aan zorgkosten zelf betaalt. Een bezoek aan de huisarts valt hier niet onder.

Er verandert één ding in uw aanvullende pakket: fysiotherapie wordt voortaan vergoed tot twaalf behandelingen per jaar in plaats van negen. De vergoeding voor de tandarts blijft gelijk.

Wilt u overstappen naar een andere verzekeraar? Dat kan tot en met 31 december. Uw nieuwe verzekeraar zegt de oude polis dan voor u op. Wilt u alleen uw eigen pakket aanpassen, dan kan dat tot 31 januari via Mijn Gelre.

Dear Mr Berg,

In this letter you can read what will change in your health insurance in 2027. Your policy is renewed automatically, so if you are satisfied, you don't need to do anything.

Your premium for the basic insurance will be €149.50 a month. That is €6.25 more than this year. As usual, the premium will be debited from your account around the first of the month.

The compulsory excess remains €385. This means that you pay the first €385 of healthcare costs yourself. A visit to the GP does not count towards this.

One thing changes in your supplementary package: physiotherapy will now be covered up to twelve sessions a year instead of nine. The dental cover stays the same.

Do you want to switch to another insurer? You can do so up to and including 31 December. Your new insurer will then cancel your old policy for you. If you only want to change your own package, you can do that until 31 January via Mijn Gelre.
