How to ask questions

A1 · Beginner · ≈ 22 min

Questions are a beginner's most important tool: they allow you to keep a conversation going, even when you don't know many words yet. In Dutch, questions are formed mechanically: either the verb comes first, or a question word precedes it. Plus, there are a few formulas that will help you in any conversation.

1. Ja/nee-questions: verb first
